Crawford delivered a go-ahead two-run single during a six-run seventh inning as the red-hot Seattle Mariners rolled past the Los Angeles Angels 9-3 on Wednesday. The win marked Seattle’s seventh consecutive series victory, while the struggling Angels lost their fifth straight game.

Adding to their woes, the Angels saw star outfielder Mike Trout exit the game in the fourth inning with soreness in his left knee after running out a grounder. Trout, who went 1-for-2 in the game, has started all 29 contests this season but is hitting just .179 with nine home runs. He’s played fewer than 100 games in four of the last five seasons, including only 29 last year. He expressed hope to return to the lineup Thursday.

Seattle continues to surge, winning four straight and 15 of their last 18. Emerson Hancock allowed three runs on nine hits over six innings, while Casey Legumina (2-0) earned the win with a clean seventh inning.

Leo Rivas went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, and Randy Arozarena hit the Mariners’ fifth home run of the season. Jorge Soler also homered in the win.

Reid Detmers (0-1) took the loss for the Angels after entering the seventh and allowing five runs without recording an out. Starter Tyler Anderson exited with the game tied.

Seattle was also dealt an injury blow, placing outfielder Luke Raley on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to Monday) due to a right oblique strain.

Key Moment

Crawford’s two-run single broke a 3-3 tie, and he later scored from first on a Julio Rodríguez double off the wall. Cal Raleigh then added an RBI single as Rodríguez slid home after briefly stumbling on the play.

Key Stat

Arozarena extended his on-base streak to a career-best 25 games, the third-longest active streak in MLB behind Kyle Schwarber (35) and Aaron Judge (26).
