Logan O’Hoppe homered for the fourth straight game, and Jorge Soler crushed a go-ahead homer in the sixth, leading the Los Angeles Angels to a 6-2 victory over the Cleveland Guardians on Sunday.

Kyren Paris also went deep for the Angels, who have won six of their last eight games and secured a series win over Cleveland, their only home series in the season’s opening stretch. Los Angeles plays 15 of its first 18 games on the road.

O’Hoppe made franchise history by becoming the first Angels catcher to homer in four consecutive games. After going deep last Wednesday in St. Louis, he followed with homers in all three games against the Guardians, including a solo shot to lead off the second inning Sunday.

Kyle Manzardo went yard for Cleveland, but the Guardians ended a disappointing 3-6 road trip by losing five of their final six games in Southern California.

Tyler Anderson gave the Angels five innings of two-run ball, allowing just one hit but issuing four walks. Ryan Zeferjahn (1-0) earned the win in relief by pitching a scoreless sixth.

Closer Kenley Jansen recorded the final three outs and reached a milestone, tying Hall of Famer Lee Smith for fifth all-time among relievers with 1,225 career strikeouts.

Guardians starter Luis Ortiz (0-2) surrendered three runs on seven hits across six innings.

Tim Anderson chipped in an RBI single in the second inning, while the Angels padded their lead with sacrifice flies from Luis Rengifo and Soler in the seventh.

Soler’s 397-foot homer to left in the sixth broke a 2-2 tie and marked his second long ball in as many days.

Tim Anderson drove in three runs during the series — the first time he’s done that in a single series since July 2022, as he looks to bounce back with the Angels.
