Cedric Mullins and Gary Sánchez blasted back-to-back home runs in the sixth inning to push the Baltimore Orioles ahead, and closer Félix Bautista shut the door in the ninth to secure a 6-5 win over the Los Angeles Angels on Saturday night.
Mullins launched his 11th homer of the season—a two-run shot off Tyler Anderson—before Sánchez followed with a solo blast, his first as an Oriole, giving Baltimore a 6-4 lead.
Bautista, hitting 100 mph on the radar gun for the first time since 2023, retired Mike Trout on a deep fly to right and, after walking Taylor Ward, struck out Logan O’Hoppe in a nine-pitch battle to end the game. Bautista earned his 14th save in 15 opportunities.
Trout got the Angels on the board early, belting his 11th home run off the left-field foul pole after a leadoff walk to Zach Neto in the first. The two-run shot was the 389th of his career.
Luis Rengifo added power from both sides of the plate for the Angels, hitting solo homers in the sixth and eighth innings—his third career game with homers from both sides. He had only one homer coming into the game.
Baltimore had taken a 3-2 lead in the third on RBI singles by Gunnar Henderson and Jordan Westburg before Trout and Rengifo helped the Angels briefly reclaim the lead.
Anderson (2-4) gave up six runs on nine hits in five innings, continuing a 10-start winless streak. Tomoyuki Sugano allowed three runs over 4 2/3 innings for Baltimore, while Keegan Akin (2-0) earned the win by escaping a bases-loaded jam in the fifth and recording four outs.
