The Los Angeles Angels are playing some of their best baseball in recent memory. It wasn’t long ago that their 2025 season appeared to be dead on arrival, but inspired play from Logan O’Hoppe, Zach Neto, Taylor Ward and more have the Halos on a six-game winning streak and not far out from the American League postseason picture.

The Angels are scoring 7.3 runs per game, hitting .292 with a .945 OPS and have hit 15 homers in the six-game stretch. This included four from O’Hoppe, including the first pair of back-to-back homers by the Angels this season with O’Hoppe and Jo Adell.

The young cornerstone catcher spoke about the recent success and the way things have been rolling for the Angels after their season looked to be in a dismal place earlier this month, according to Jeff Fletcher of The O.C. Register:

“It’s what we know we’re capable of doing,” said Logan O’Hoppe, who hit two homers. “So I speak for a lot of guys in here, we’re not surprised to see it. It’s stuff that we’ve been practicing, talking about. And I’m happy that we’re riding the wave right now where it’s all coming together.”

Manager Ron Washington gave his thoughts on the recent hot streak, saying it’s exactly what the team needed after working hard to get through such a tough stretch.

“They’ve been swinging the bat,” Manager Ron Washington said. “We needed it. Like I said, Taylor Ward came alive, and now Jorge starting to swing the bat. (Luis) Rengifo looks like he’s starting to swing the bat. And that’s the three guys we needed. And (injured) Mike (Trout) to go along with those kids. Those kids have been showing up every day, getting it done. So it’s nice that now we’ve got everybody functioning.”

The Angels are likely not going to score over seven runs per game for the rest of the season, but the young players leading this type of streak is exactly the steps towards building a real postseason contender. As it stands, the Angels are only three games behind the Cleveland Guardians for the third Wild Card spot in the AL.

There’s plenty of season left, but for the first time in a long time, the Angels have real reason to hope for a turning of the corner.

Logan O’Hoppe records two homers in sixth straight win

Logan O’Hoppe crushed two home runs and drove in three runs, while Jo Adell and Zach Neto also went deep as the Los Angeles Angels extended their winning streak to a season-best six games with a 10-5 win over the Oakland Athletics on Wednesday night.

O’Hoppe opened the fourth inning with his second blast of the game — his 13th of the season and third in two nights — before Adell followed with his sixth of the year. Neto had already given the Angels the lead for good with a two-run shot in the third, his eighth of the season.

The Angels recorded five separate two-run innings, showcasing a balanced offensive attack. Taylor Ward had a triple and double among his three hits, while Jorge Soler collected three hits, including two doubles and two RBI.
