Logan O’Hoppe hit a solo homer and later delivered the go-ahead RBI single. At the same time, Yoán Moncada added a key three-run shot as the Los Angeles Angels held off the Oakland Athletics 7-5 on Tuesday night to extend their winning streak to five games.

Kenley Jansen closed it out despite giving up an RBI single to pinch-hitter Seth Brown in the ninth. He struck out Tyler Soderstrom to notch his 10th save and hand the A’s their seventh consecutive defeat.

Moncada tied the game at 4-4 in the fifth with a three-run homer before O’Hoppe drove in the go-ahead run with a single later in the inning. In the ninth, Zach Neto doubled in an insurance run, and Taylor Ward added another on a fielder’s choice.

Angels starter Kyle Hendricks (2-5) allowed four runs on nine hits in 5 2/3 innings, continuing a trend of early-inning struggles but settling down in the middle frames.

Oakland took a 4-1 lead in the fourth after Shea Langeliers launched a solo homer and Nick Kurtz followed with a two-run blast. Luis Urías had opened the scoring with a two-out RBI single in the second.

O’Hoppe tied the game 1-1 in the fourth with his 11th home run off A’s rookie Gunnar Hoglund (1-2), who allowed five runs on six hits in 4 2/3 innings.

The Athletics lost standout rookie Jacob Wilson in the third after a Hendricks pitch hit him on the wrist. Wilson entered the game batting .341, third-best in the majors.
